Hartville Pet Insurance Group Moving to Akron

Company is first major tenant in former Lockheed Martin Facility

Hartville Pet Insurance Group will move in July from its current offices in Canton and Copley to the former Lockheed Martin campus, bringing more than 125 jobs to Akron, the company announced today. At 26,000 square feet, the new space allows Hartville to consolidate its offices and bring both teams together under one roof. The new office will house 125 employees.

“We’re a growing company in a growing industry, and we simply ran out of space in our Canton office,” said Dennis Rushovich, senior vice president. “While we will miss being in Canton, we know we will be much more efficient when our staff is together under one roof.”

Hartville will become the first major tenant in the sprawling defense complex that is being renovated by Industrial Commercial properties, LLC. The new Hartville space includes a state-of-the art call center that Rushovich said is vital to the company’s business.

“The new space includes a state-of-the art telecommunications center which is fundamental to our ability to deliver quality services to our customers,” Rushovich said. “In our business, a new call center is as important as any technology upgrade that we can make.”

Hartville is recognized as a solid corporate citizen that is generous in its community, and Hartville employees have already completed their first company-sponsored “Day of Giving” in Akron. Hartville employees collected 581 pounds of food items and delivered the goods and more than 40 team members volunteered at the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank on Friday, May 22.

“We chose the Food Bank for our “Day of Giving” because it serves both the Akron and Canton communities,” said Liz Watson, AVP of marketing. “ It seemed to be the perfect bridge connecting both of our hometowns and supports local pet parents in need.” Hartville Pet Insurance Group also will provide a cash donation to the Foodbank.
